The design of this mug falls into the category that Susan has named “A Mug Full of History”.
With this particular design she has chosen Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his ill fated expedition to reach the South Pole and back. This trip ultimately led to the establishment of the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI) in Cambridge in 1920.
Incorporated into the text of the design are Scott and polar related images taken from Susan’s original hand drawings that include Scott’s ship, the Terra Nova, his revolutionary motor sledges and depictions of Herbert Ponting’s photographs.

The mug is finished with hand-painted contemporary black rims.
The mug has a contemporary feel and provides interesting and informative reading whilst having your hot beverage.
For all polar historians, a ” Mug Full of History” is also available with Sir Ernest Shackleton as its subject.
